About this role

Baker Construction is hiring 4 patchers/finishers in Richmond, VA to perform concrete repair, placement, finishing, curing and cutting under the direction of a finisher foreman or lead. This role is for experienced concrete workers who can safely deliver quality patching and finishing work using hand and power tools. No travel is required.

What you'll do

  • Perform concrete patching, repair, placement, finishing, curing and cutting on assigned projects
  • Operate hand and power tools, including chipping hammers and grinders, to prepare and finish surfaces
  • Follow directions from the finisher foreman/lead and execute the proper finishing sequence and material selection
  • Ensure proper curing and protection of finished concrete to deliver an acceptable end product
  • Maintain a safe work environment and follow site safety procedures
  • Participate in training and any required certifications

What we're looking for

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years related experience and/or training
  • Proven experience patching and finishing concrete
  • Ability to repair concrete and restore surfaces
  • Proficient using chipping hammers, grinders and other concrete tools
  • Local work — no travel required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years related experience and/or training
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings
  • Experience with concrete curing and protection
  • Experience with concrete breaking, sawing and drilling
