Full time
Drywall Framer
About this role
We’re hiring a Drywall Framer in Dallas, TX to read blueprints, hang drywall and install metal framing and ceiling grids on commercial projects. This is a full-time, hands-on role working in a variety of site conditions—indoors and outdoors—with frequent use of ladders, lifts and hand tools. Day-to-day you’ll measure, cut and fit wallboard, assemble and install framing, ensure walls and ceilings are level and plumb, and patch seams. You may supervise small crews on site, follow project specifications and local codes, and complete other tasks as assigned to meet schedule and quality expectations.
What you'll do
- • Read blueprints and layout lines to determine installation methods and material needs
- • Measure, mark and cut drywall; hang wallboard and ceiling panels to specified fit
- • Assemble and install metal studs, channels, angle iron and decorative trim for openings
- • Install ceiling grid systems, access panels and suspend ceiling framework from structure
- • Inspect work for plumb and level, patch seams, install flashing and perform fire/sound caulking as required
What we're looking for
- • Proven experience hanging drywall and installing metal framing on commercial jobs
- • Able to read plans, compute framing positions and lay out reference lines
- • Lift and/or pull up to 75 lbs., climb ladders and work from man lifts or scaffolds
- • Comfort working at heights and following fall protection procedures
- • Able to stand, bend, squat or kneel for extended periods while carrying tools and materials
Qualifications
- • Journeyman-level drywall/framing experience on commercial projects
- • Knowledge of fire-rated assemblies and local building codes
- • Experience with ceiling grid systems, access panels and metal stud framing
- • Comfort using hand tools, cutting tools, powder-actuated fasteners and power tools
- • Familiarity with fall protection systems and working from ladders, lifts or scaffolds
- • OSHA 10 or 30 and site-specific safety training recommended
What we offer
- • Full-time, steady schedule — 40 hours per week with potential for overtime
- • Site safety training and support, including fall protection and jobsite procedures
- • Opportunities to supervise small crews and advance to higher-responsibility roles
- • Company-provided basic PPE and site tools as required
- • Work on a variety of commercial projects across the Dallas area
