Full Time
Drywall Framer
About This Role
Join our crew as a Drywall Framer in Dallas, TX. This full-time, 40-hr/week role puts you on commercial and residential job sites installing and finishing drywall and metal framing. You'll read blueprints, measure and cut wallboard, install metal studs and trim, and ensure walls and ceilings are plumb and level. This is a hands-on role — expect to lift up to 75 lbs., work from ladders and lifts, and occasionally supervise small crews. We value steady attendance, attention to detail, and someone who follows safety rules and local building codes.
What You'll Do
- • Read blueprints and layout reference lines, compute framing positions and mark cutting lines
- • Hang, cut, trim and fasten drywall on walls and ceilings; patch seams and fill gaps for a smooth finish
- • Assemble and install metal framing, studs, channel and angle iron for walls, ceilings, windows and door openings
- • Install access panels, ceiling grid systems, flashing, fire and sound caulking, and moisture barriers as required
- • Inspect furring, mountings and masonry for plumb and level; use spirit or water level to verify work
- • Supervise small crews on site as needed and complete other assigned job-site tasks
What We're Looking For
- • Minimum 2+ years drywall/framing experience on commercial or multi-family projects (journeyman-level preferred)
- • Ability to read and follow blueprints, shop drawings and installation specs
- • Capable of lifting 75 lbs., climbing ladders, and working from man lifts or scaffolding
- • Knowledge of fire-rated assemblies, local building codes, and fall protection systems
- • Comfort working in varied weather and on active job sites; reliable attendance and punctuality
Qualifications
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Dallas-area job sites
- • OSHA 10 (or OSHA 30 preferred) and fall protection training preferred
- • Experience with powder-actuated tools and ability to use hand and power tools safely
- • Familiarity with local building codes and fire/sound-rated assemblies
- • English proficiency for safe communication on site; bilingual Spanish is a plus
What We Offer
- • Full-time schedule — 40 hours/week with overtime opportunities
- • Health, dental, and vision insurance options (where offered)
- • 401(k) plan with employer match or retirement savings options
- • Paid time off and paid holidays
- • Tool allowance or reimbursement and support for certifications/training
