Apprentice Electrician

About this role

Join a DFW commercial crew as an Apprentice Electrician working under the direction of a Master Electrician on commercial job sites. This role focuses on hands-on learning, safe work practices, and steady field experience across new construction and retrofit projects. This position is based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and may require travel outside Texas. Candidates must have or be able to obtain a State of Texas Apprentice Electrician license, provide reliable transportation, and be ready to work in a team environment where safety and quality come first.

What you'll do

  • Assist a Master Electrician and journeyman crews with installation of raceways, wireways, conduit, and basic wiring on commercial sites
  • Install and connect lighting fixtures, receptacles, switches, and basic control devices following drawings and instructions
  • Read and follow blueprints, schematics, and site layouts to complete assigned tasks
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and support energized circuit work under direct supervision while following all safety procedures
  • Maintain and care for basic hand tools and assigned equipment; keep work areas clean and organized
  • Travel to job sites within the DFW area (and occasional out-of-state work) and complete required jobsite paperwork and time entry

What we're looking for

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a State of Texas Apprentice Electrician license prior to employment
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to multiple job sites; must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders and scaffolds, stoop/bend repeatedly, and work in varied site conditions
  • Basic hand tools in good condition (tool list provided upon hire) and a strong mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn
  • Able to work on energized circuits under supervision and follow OSHA, site, and company safety rules
  • Must pass a criminal background check, drug test, and complete required safety training prior to starting

Qualifications

  • State of Texas Apprentice Electrician license (current or ability to obtain)
  • High school diploma or GED and verifiable trade references
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus
  • Complete a four-hour site safety training program prior to employment
