Electrical Foreman

About This Role

Join a busy commercial electrical team in Raleigh, NC as an Electrical Foreman. You’ll supervise electricians, apprentices, and laborers on commercial builds, make sure work is installed to code and company standards, and keep projects on schedule and on budget. This is a hands-on lead role: you’ll read plans, organize materials and equipment, perform quality checks, resolve on-site issues, and enforce NEC and job-site safety rules. You’ll train crew members, coordinate with other trades, and step in to troubleshoot and complete electrical work when needed.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise and train electricians, apprentices, and laborers; assign daily tasks and monitor workmanship.
  • Read and interpret plans, specifications, and work orders; verify layouts and coordinate installations to drawings.
  • Organize, order, and stage project materials and equipment; manage work sequences to meet the project schedule.
  • Conduct quality control inspections, test circuits and systems, and correct deficiencies to meet NEC and project standards.
  • Coordinate with other trades and the superintendent to resolve conflicts, adjust schedules, and keep work areas safe and accessible.
  • Enforce site safety standards, lead toolbox talks, document inspections, and respond to field technical issues and troubleshooting needs.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 2+ years experience as a Foreman/Lead on commercial electrical construction and 2+ years as a Journeyman electrician.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), conduit bending, raceway installation, motor controllers, and lighting systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation manuals; use testing equipment to diagnose issues.
  • Hands-on skills: install conduit, wireways, panels, controls, and perform interlock and emergency system work.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Good communication and leadership skills; able to supervise crews, resolve conflicts, and maintain job-site documentation.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman electrician certification or equivalent trade certification; 2+ years foreman/lead experience on commercial projects.
  • OSHA 10 (required) or OSHA 30 (preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; must pass background and drug screen.
  • Proven ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics; familiarity with local code enforcement and permit/inspection process.
  • Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb, bend, and work in varied weather/conditions.
  • English required; Spanish or other language skills a plus.
