Electrician Journeyman - Bethesda, MD

About this role

Seeking experienced journeyman electricians for local commercial work in Bethesda, MD. This role focuses on hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of power and control systems on campus-style facilities. You will work on motors, starters, relays, transfer switches, generators, UPS/battery systems and photovoltaic equipment. The position requires reading ladder logic, diagrams and schematics, performing installation wiring and upgrades, and supporting mechanical and electrical repairs. Shift work including nights, weekends and holidays is required as needed.

What you'll do

• • Troubleshoot and repair power and control electrical systems using ladder logic, diagrams and schematics.
• • Remove and replace motors, starters, relays, limit switches, fuses and other primary control components.
• • Install new wiring hook-ups and upgrade existing electrical equipment and controls.
• • Perform maintenance and repairs on ATS, emergency generators, UPS/battery systems and photovoltaic equipment.
• • Assemble, inspect, adjust and replace faulty parts and wiring on electronic and electrical devices; support mechanical repairs.
• • Document work, follow safety procedures and apply federal, state and local electrical codes on every job.

What we're looking for

• • State-licensed electrician (journeyman) required.
• • Proven ability to troubleshoot medium- and high-voltage systems and general commercial electrical work.
• • Skill reading and interpreting drawings, schematics and ladder logic.
• • Hands-on experience with generators, automatic transfer switches, UPS/battery storage and photovoltaic systems.
• • Willingness to work varying shifts including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• • State-licensed electrician (journeyman card or equivalent)
• • Experience with medium/high-voltage systems, generators, ATS, UPS and PV systems
• • Able to read ladder logic, wiring diagrams and construction drawings
• • English language proficiency for safe communication and documentation
