Journeyman Electrician
About this role
Local commercial journeyman electricians needed in Bethesda, MD to perform hands-on electrical installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance across campus-style facilities. Work will focus on controls, power systems, motors, starters, lighting, and building electrical equipment. This role requires solid mid-level troubleshooting skills with ladder logic, diagrams, and schematics, plus the ability to install and upgrade wiring and components for ATS, UPS/battery storage, emergency generators, and photovoltaic systems. Must be available for varying shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
What you'll do
- • Troubleshoot and repair control and power electrical systems using ladder logic, diagrams, and schematics
- • Remove and replace motors, starters, relays, limit switches, fuses, and primary control components
- • Install new wiring hook-ups, wireways, raceways, and upgrade existing equipment and lighting systems
- • Perform mid-level mechanical and electrical maintenance on ATS, UPS/battery systems, emergency generators, and PV systems
- • Support mechanical trades with electrical tasks and coordinate on-site repairs and system tests
- • Interpret and apply federal, state, and local electrical codes during installation and repairs
What we're looking for
- • State-licensed journeyman electrician with commercial electrical service and installation experience
- • Proven ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and ladder logic
- • Hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical systems (safety, amperage, wear-and-tear) and system troubleshooting
- • Experience with wireway and raceway installation, lighting installation, and selection/installation of overcurrent devices
- • Working knowledge of medium-voltage/high-voltage systems and generators, plus PV system maintenance
- • Willingness to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
Qualifications
- • State Licensed Electrician (required)
- • Journeyman card or equivalent credential where applicable
- • Fluent in English and Russian (required)
- • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local travel
- • Ability to obtain site-specific qualifications (e.g., OSHA, hot work) as needed
