Journeyman Electrician

About This Role

Journeyman electricians needed in Bethesda, MD for local residential and commercial electrical work. You’ll install, maintain, and repair systems on jobs ranging from service upgrades to lighting installs — work is hands-on and close to home. This role requires reading electrical drawings, following codes, and troubleshooting systems on the fly. Journeymen will work on job sites with small crews, interact with inspectors and customers, and be expected to keep work safe, neat, and code-compliant. What You'll Do

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems for residential and commercial projects (service upgrades, panel work, lighting, circuits)
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to lay out work and verify compliance
  • Install wireways, raceways, conduit, conductors, and overcurrent protection devices per plans and codes
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems for faults, voltage drops, and equipment failures; perform testing and repairs
  • Ensure all installations meet NEC and local code requirements; coordinate inspections and correct deficiencies

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience with commercial electrical service installation and residential wiring
  • Able to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and building plans
  • Skilled troubleshooting of electrical systems (safety, amps, wear-and-tear diagnostics)
  • Experience installing wireway, raceway, lighting systems, and selecting/installing overcurrent devices
  • Working knowledge of NEC and Maryland building codes; strong focus on safe, code-compliant work

Qualifications

  • Valid Maryland journeyman electrician license preferred (or equivalent state license)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • OSHA-10 (preferred) or willingness to obtain; electrical safety training a plus
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and clean driving record
  • Able to pass background check and drug screen
