Journeyman Electrician
About This Role
Join a busy Charlotte, NC crew as a Journeyman Electrician working on commercial, healthcare, education, and life science projects. You’ll install, maintain, and repair electrical systems to code, read blueprints and schematics, troubleshoot issues, and help deliver reliable systems on schedule. This role is hands-on and safety-first. You’ll work with project managers, engineers, and other trades to complete quality installations, perform testing and inspections, and provide excellent customer service on each job. If you have solid field experience, clear communication skills, and take pride in clean, code-compliant work, this is a practical, steady opportunity.
What You'll Do
- • Install, maintain, and repair commercial electrical systems to local and national code
- • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to lay out and complete work
- • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical faults, panels, breakers, motors, and control systems
- • Perform testing, inspections, and documentation of completed work; ensure systems meet performance and safety standards
- • Work safely with modern tools and equipment; follow lockout/tagout and site safety procedures
- • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, superintendents, and other trades to sequence work and meet schedules
What We're Looking For
- • 8+ years construction industry experience as an electrician, with commercial project experience preferred
- • Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring schematics
- • Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical systems, overcurrent devices, standby/emergency systems, and controls
- • Knowledge of local and national electrical codes and standards; enforce safety procedures on-site
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites
- • OSHA 30 certification required; state electrician license preferred
