Journeyman Electrician

About this role

DPR is hiring a Journeyman Electrician in Abilene, TX to install electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment per project specifications and diagrams. The role includes installing routine and non-routine systems, testing and troubleshooting electrical faults, and interpreting blueprints and schematics. The electrician must maintain safe, organized tools and work areas, follow safety and quality standards, and communicate progress and issues with leadership and crew members. High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience is required. A Journeyman Electrician License is required at hire. OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification must be completed within six months of hire.

What you'll do

• Install routine and non-routine electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment per project specifications and diagrams
• Test and troubleshoot electrical systems to identify and repair faults
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to guide work
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, organized condition
• Follow established safety protocols and quality standards to ensure compliance
• Communicate progress, issues, and material or manpower needs to leadership and crew

What we're looking for

• Proven experience with commercial electrical service installation
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical documents
• Skilled at testing and troubleshooting electrical systems (safety, amps, wear)
• Experience with lighting installation and related systems
• Strong verbal and written communication with crew and leadership
• Knowledge of building codes and electrical regulations

Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician License (state licensed electrician) — required
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification — must be completed within 6 months of hire
• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience
• English — required
