Electrician II

About this role

We are hiring a mid-level electrician in Maryland to troubleshoot and repair controls and power electrical systems for building infrastructure. This is a hands-on role working on motors, starters, relays, control components, backup power and photovoltaic systems. You will use ladder logic, diagrams and schematics to diagnose problems, make wiring hook-ups and perform mid-level assembly, inspection, adjustment and repair. The schedule is flexible and will include nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

What you'll do

• • Troubleshoot controls and power electrical systems using ladder logic, wiring diagrams and schematics.
• • Remove, replace and wire motors, starters, relays, limit switches, fuses and primary control components.
• • Perform mid-level assembly, inspection, adjustment and repair of electrical and electronic devices and control circuits.
• • Support mechanical and electrical repairs on automatic transfer switches (ATS), UPS/battery systems, emergency generators and photovoltaic systems.
• • Install and upgrade wiring and control components; select and install overcurrent protection as required.
• • Work to applicable Federal, State, and local electrical codes; respond to night and weekend calls as scheduled.

What we're looking for

• • Mid-level hands-on experience troubleshooting controls, motor circuits and power systems.
• • Able to read and work from ladder logic, schematics and technical drawings.
• • Experience with ATS, UPS/battery systems, emergency generators and photovoltaic (PV) equipment.
• • Competence removing and installing motors, starters, relays, fuses and control devices; performing electrical wiring hook-ups and upgrades.
• • Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays; reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites in MD.

Qualifications

• • Journeyman-level electrical experience or equivalent on-the-job experience
• • NFPA 70E training or qualified to work safely on energized equipment
• • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
• • Demonstrated experience with high-voltage systems and overcurrent device selection/installation
• • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• • Ability to read technical drawings, PLC ladder logic and electrical schematics
