About this role
DPR is hiring an Electrical Technician in Abilene, TX to support licensed electricians while developing core trade skills through structured training. This entry-level role assists with wiring, conduit, equipment setup, jobsite organization, documentation, and safety tasks under direct supervision. The position includes on-the-job and classroom training to build electrical trade knowledge. Candidates must follow site safety procedures and either hold OSHA 10 or complete the OSHA 10 program within six months of hire.
What you'll do
- Support licensed electricians by preparing materials, tools, and work areas for daily tasks
- Assist with basic wiring, conduit installation, and equipment setup under direct supervision
- Follow safety procedures on site and complete OSHA 10 within 6 months if not already certified
- Document completed work and materials used to support project tracking
- Communicate progress and questions to crew members and supervisors to facilitate learning
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of job sites; load and unload materials as needed
What we're looking for
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under direct supervision
- Willingness to learn basic wiring, low-voltage work, and selection/installation of overcurrent devices
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Experience or ability to load/unload materials and perform site clean-up
- Strong verbal and written communication across teams
Qualifications
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction (preferred; must be completed within 6 months if not already certified)
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
