Electrician — High-Voltage Substation (Helpers/Apprentices/Journeymen)

About this role

We're hiring Electrical Helpers, Electrical Apprentices, and Journeyman Electricians for high-voltage substation work on projects across West Texas. Work involves 35 kV and above systems, with travel between project sites and on-site assignments for extended periods. You’ll perform hands-on substation installation tasks including terminations, cable pulling, grounding, and equipment set-up while following strict energized-equipment safety procedures. What you'll do

• • Install, terminate, and connect high-voltage equipment and conductors on substation projects (35 kV and above).
• • Pull, route, and secure power and control cable; install wireways and raceways to project specifications.
• • Install and test grounding systems, bond connections, and overcurrent protection as required.
• • Work safely around energized systems: follow lockout/tagout, PPE, and site-specific energized work procedures.
• • Read and interpret technical drawings, single-line diagrams, and wiring schematics to complete assigned tasks.
• • Handle material loading/unloading, maintain tools and equipment, and perform basic troubleshooting and testing of installed systems.

What we're looking for

• • Hands-on substation experience on medium/high-voltage systems (35 kV and above) — installation, terminations, cable pulling, and grounding.
• • Ability to work safely around energized equipment and follow strict site safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• • Proven ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
• • Willingness to travel to and work at remote project sites across West Texas; able to work extended on-site assignments.
• • Physically able to lift, carry, climb, and work outdoors in varied weather; reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• • Journeyman electrician license or equivalent for journeyman applicants; apprenticeship enrollment or completion for apprentices.
• • Demonstrated substation experience (35 kV+) or documented on-the-job training.
• • NFPA 70E awareness and energized-work safety training preferred.
• • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; able to travel to remote sites.
• • Ability to pass drug screen and background check; English required, Spanish a plus.
