Electrician — High-Voltage Substation (Helpers / Apprentices / Journeymen)

About This Role

Experienced electrical hands wanted for high-voltage substation projects across West Texas. Work involves 35 kV and above systems — installation, terminations, cable pulls, grounding, and safe work around energized equipment. Roles open for Electrical Helpers, Apprentices, and Journeyman Electricians. Pay is $36–$42/hour plus $830/week per diem for eligible workers. Travel to multiple West Texas project sites is required. If you have substation or medium-voltage experience and are ready to travel and work safely around energized systems, this is a solid paying opportunity to build your high-voltage experience.

What You'll Do

• • Install and assemble substation equipment, bus, conduit, wireways, and raceways on 35 kV+ systems.
• • Perform cable pulling, terminations, splicing, and connector installation per drawings and specs.
• • Install and test grounding systems and bonding; ensure continuity and compliance with project drawings.
• • Read and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and work plans; coordinate with crew leads on tasks and sequencing.
• • Load, unload, handle, and stage material and equipment on-site; maintain jobsite housekeeping and secure tools.
• • Work safely around energized systems, follow lockout/tagout and site-specific safety procedures, and report hazards promptly.

What We're Looking For

• • Hands-on experience with medium- to high-voltage substation work (35 kV and above) — installation, terminations, cable pulling, grounding.
• • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
• • Comfortable working around energized equipment and following strict safety procedures.
• • Willingness to travel across West Texas and remain on project sites as required.
• • Physical ability to lift, climb, pull cable, and perform sustained manual work in outdoor conditions.
• • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between projects.

Qualifications

• • Journeyman electricians: state/local journeyman license or equivalent preferred.
• • Apprentices: enrolled in a recognized electrical apprenticeship program.
• • Helpers: prior construction or electrical experience on commercial/industrial sites.
• • Proven experience on medium/high-voltage systems (35 kV+) and grounding practices.
• • Able to communicate in English for reading drawings, safety briefings, and crew coordination.
