Lead Commercial Electrician (Journeyman)
About This Role
Lead Commercial Electrician (Journeyman) needed for commercial projects across Orlando and Central Florida. This is a full-time, steady role running crews and delivering high-quality electrical installations in hotels, restaurants, theme parks, and other commercial facilities. You’ll lead teams of apprentices, read blueprints, follow the NEC, plan daily work, and troubleshoot systems on site. Pay is $26–$32/hr depending on experience, with employer-paid medical, optional dental/vision, PTO and paid holidays. This role is for hands-on leaders who bring reliable skills, tools, and a commitment to safety and quality.
What You'll Do
- • Lead and supervise crews of 2–10 apprentices and electricians on commercial job sites
- • Install, test, and maintain commercial electrical systems and wiring methods per NEC and project specs
- • Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical drawings to lay out work and materials
- • Plan daily activities, track crew productivity, schedule material deliveries, and coordinate inspections
- • Troubleshoot electrical systems, identify faults, and perform repairs on lighting, distribution, and controls
- • Enforce safety procedures, keep jobsite clean, and document work/as-built changes
What We're Looking For
- • Journeyman-level experience with a strong commercial background
- • Minimum 5 years leading commercial electrical projects or acting as a foreman
- • Solid knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and commercial wiring methods
- • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, single-line drawings, and load calculations
- • Valid driver’s license with clean driving history; must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- • Must provide a full set of electrician tools, be physically able to perform job duties, and have a smartphone/tablet for time entry
Qualifications
- • Journeyman license or equivalent journeyman-level experience
- • 5+ years supervising or leading commercial electrical crews
- • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- • Able to pass drug screen and criminal background check
- • Full set of electrician hand and power tools and a personal smartphone or tablet for time entry
- • English required; Spanish or other language skills a plus
