Commercial Electrician — Low-Voltage

Ridgecrest, CA $28-$47/hr

About this role

We are hiring a commercial electrician in Ridgecrest, CA to install, test and maintain low-voltage systems on commercial construction projects. You will work on job sites with other trades, read plans, install raceways and cabling, and perform testing and troubleshooting on energized circuits when required. This is hands-on field work on commercial builds. Expect standard construction hours with occasional overtime, strict adherence to site safety protocols, and tasks that require working safely around energized equipment and following site-specific training and lockout/tagout procedures.

What you'll do

  • Install and terminate low-voltage cabling for voice, data and video systems on commercial job sites
  • Install lighting fixtures, wireways, raceways and conduit per plans and code
  • Select, install and test overcurrent protection and related devices where applicable
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and wiring schematics on site
  • Perform troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning of low-voltage circuits and devices, including working safely around energized equipment
  • Coordinate with foremen, other trades and inspectors to keep work on schedule and compliant with site requirements

What we're looking for

  • Licensed electrician or equivalent certification (journeyman-level preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years commercial electrical experience working on low-voltage systems
  • Proven troubleshooting skills with experience testing and commissioning energized circuits
  • Experience with wireway and raceway installation, lighting systems, and voice/data/video installations
  • Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints and follow site safety procedures

Qualifications

  • Valid electrician license or journeyman-level certification (as required by CA)
  • 5+ years commercial electrical experience with low-voltage systems
  • Fluent English for safe on-site communication
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Ridgecrest job sites
  • NFPA 70E electrical safety training and OSHA 10/30 preferred
