Electrician Journeyman

FL

About This Role

Journeyman electricians needed across Florida to support commercial and utility-scale solar projects. You’ll be working hands-on installing PV systems, wiring inverters and combiners, running conduit, and troubleshooting systems on active job sites. This is field work — travel between sites in Florida, work with installation crews, and follow local electrical and NEC code. We offer competitive pay (DOE), overtime opportunities, and steady work for experienced journeyman-level electricians comfortable with solar.

What You'll Do

  • Perform journeyman-level electrical installation for solar projects: conduit, wireway, raceways, overcurrent devices, combiner and inverter connections
  • Install and terminate PV system components, AC/DC wiring, disconnects, and grounding systems according to plans and NEC
  • Read and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and site layouts to complete installations to spec
  • Troubleshoot electrical and PV system issues on-site (amps, voltages, wiring faults, equipment faults) and perform system testing
  • Coordinate with solar installation teams, foremen, and site supervisors to maintain a safe, code-compliant worksite
  • Complete required documentation, punch lists, and communicate status and material needs for daily work

What We're Looking For

  • Valid journeyman electrician experience — minimum 3 years preferred in commercial or solar electrical work
  • Hands-on experience with PV (solar) system installation and general PV system components
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and site layouts
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical systems, select/install overcurrent devices, and test circuits safely
  • Experience working with wireway, raceway, conduit, lighting, standby/emergency systems, and basic low-voltage (voice/data/video) work
  • Knowledge of local, state, and NEC code requirements and commitment to safe work practices

Qualifications

  • Journeyman electrician license, card, or equivalent trade certification (Florida preferred)
  • NABCEP PV installer certification or experience with PV systems preferred
  • OSHA 10 (required) or OSHA 30 (preferred)
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record and ability to travel across Florida
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
  • Physical ability to lift, climb ladders, and work outdoors in Florida conditions; bilingual (Spanish) a plus

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience + overtime opportunities
  • Per diem or travel pay and mileage reimbursement for multi-site work across Florida
  • Health insurance options and paid time off (details based on schedule/position)
  • Training and certification support (NABCEP, OSHA) and on-the-job advancement
  • Tool allowance or reimbursement and quality PPE provided
  • Stable, steady field work with clear schedules and safety-first crews
