Licensed Electrical Journeyman
About This Role
We’re hiring a Licensed Electrical Journeyman in Monroe, LA to work on substation construction and high-voltage industrial projects. This is hands-on field work: bending conduit, making terminations, running control wiring and working directly on PLC panels and terminal blocks. Pay is $35–$44/hr. You must have industrial experience and a state electrician license. Substation building experience is preferred but not required if you have solid high-voltage and industrial wiring experience.
What You'll Do
- • Install and terminate high-voltage equipment and switchgear on substation builds
- • Bend, run and secure conduit and raceways to plans and specs
- • Wire and terminate PLC panels, transmitters, terminal blocks and control wiring
- • Read electrical prints, schematics and wiring diagrams; follow layout and markups
- • Perform cable pulling, testing, and commissioning tasks; document work and complete punch lists
- • Follow safety procedures on site, use PPE, and maintain tools and equipment
What We're Looking For
- • State Licensed Electrician (Journeyman) in good standing
- • Proven industrial electrical experience with high-voltage work and conduit bending
- • Hands-on experience with terminations, control wiring, PLC panels, transmitters and terminal blocks
- • Ability to read electrical drawings and follow installation specs
- • Physically able to lift, climb and work outdoors on construction sites; reliable transportation to job sites
- • Willingness to work overtime and travel to nearby project sites as needed
Qualifications
- • State Electrical Journeyman License (required)
- • NFPA 70E or other high-voltage safety training (preferred)
- • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 card preferred
- • Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and drug screening
- • Basic English reading and communication skills for reading plans and jobsite coordination
