Floor Layer Field Helper (Commercial)

About this role

Join a commercial flooring crew as a hands-on Field Helper on Dallas-area jobsites. This entry-level role is for dependable, hardworking people who want to learn commercial wood flooring, support installers, and build a career in finish carpentry or flooring. You’ll spend each day helping crews move and prep materials, assist with subfloor work and layout, protect finished work, and keep the site organized. Expect on-the-job training, steady weekday project work, and clear steps to advance into installer roles as you gain skills.

What you'll do

  • Unload, carry, stage, and move wood flooring materials and tools on commercial jobsites
  • Assist with subfloor prep, layout support, and basic measuring/cutting as directed
  • Help installers with placement and laying tasks under crew lead direction
  • Protect finished floors, install floor protection, and maintain jobsite quality
  • Perform site cleanup, organize tools and materials, and keep areas safe
  • Follow crew leads and supervisors, learn techniques, and ask questions to improve

What we're looking for

  • Dependable attendance and punctuality for scheduled weekday projects
  • Physically able to lift, carry, bend, kneel, and stay active all day
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
  • Willingness to learn, follow directions, and work as part of a team
  • Construction, carpentry, or flooring experience is helpful but not required

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Conversational English and Spanish (required)
  • Comfort with physical labor and carrying up to typical jobsite loads
  • Basic measuring and cutting skills or willingness to learn on site
