Floor Layer / Tile & Marble Setter — Field Helper (Dallas, TX)
About This Role
Entry-level Field Helper role supporting commercial wood flooring crews in Dallas. This is a hands-on job for dependable, hardworking people who want to learn commercial wood floor installation and gain experience in construction or finish carpentry. You’ll work on active jobsites helping with material handling, subfloor prep, layout, cleanup, and learning directly from experienced installers. Pay is $16–$20/hr. The position requires reliable attendance, the ability to lift and move materials, and a valid driver’s license. Bilingual English/Spanish is required to communicate on site. This is a good stepping stone into floor installation or broader commercial carpentry roles for someone willing to learn and work hard.
What You'll Do
- • Unload, carry, stage and move wood flooring materials and tools on commercial jobsites
- • Assist with subfloor prep, leveling, and basic layout work as directed by installers
- • Support crews with placement and laying of wood flooring, holding materials and assisting cuts
- • Perform general site clean up, floor protection, and jobsite organization at the end of each shift
- • Follow crew lead instructions to protect finished work and maintain jobsite quality standards
- • Keep tools and materials organized, report supply shortfalls, and help maintain a safe work area
What We're Looking For
- • Be on time, ready to work, and able to follow directions from crew leads
- • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly; bend, kneel, climb, and stay active all day
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites
- • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required) for crew communication
- • Willingness to learn flooring techniques, use basic hand tools, and work as part of a team
- • Prior construction, flooring, or carpentry experience is a plus but not required

- • Willing to wear PPE and follow jobsite safety rules
- • Construction/flooring/carpentry experience preferred but not required
