General Laborer

About this role

Per diem general laborer needed in Charleston, West Virginia to support concrete and tilt‑up crews on local commercial and residential jobs. This role is hands-on: you will handle loading and unloading materials, demolition tasks, site cleanup, traffic control/flagging, and basic carpentry support. Work is primarily local day shifts with flexible per diem assignments. Ideal candidates are reliable, able to lift and work outdoors, and comfortable on both commercial and residential job sites. Experience with concrete, carpentry, or tilt‑up work is a plus.

What you'll do

• • Load and unload materials and equipment safely on site and from trucks
• • Perform demolition, debris removal, and thorough site cleanup at end of day
• • Set up and maintain traffic control and flagging for safe access around work zones
• • Assist concrete crews with form work, moving material, and handling tilt‑up panels
• • Complete basic carpentry tasks: blocking, bracing, and light framing as directed
• • Follow foreman directions, maintain tools/equipment, and uphold site housekeeping

What we're looking for

• • Prior experience in general construction, concrete, or carpentry work
• • Comfortable with physical labor: lifting, bending, and working outdoors
• • Knowledge of demolition, site cleanup, and safe material handling
• • Ability to perform traffic control and flagging per site instructions
• • Reliable transportation to Charleston job locations and punctual attendance

Qualifications

• • Valid driver's license and clean travel record preferred
• • OSHA 10 or willingness to obtain site safety training (preferred)
• • Traffic control/flagger certification a plus
• • Able to pass a basic background and drug screening if required
• • English proficiency for clear communication on site
