Laborer/Carpenter Foreman

About this role

Mortenson is hiring a Laborer/Carpenter Foreman for work in Nashville, TN. The role requires at least 5 years of carpentry experience with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity. The Foreman will lead crews on commercial projects, use an iPad for time reporting, and work from construction documents and shop drawings. The right candidate must hold Telehandler forklift and boom/scissor lift certifications, have OSHA 10 (OSHA 30 preferred), and maintain First Aid/CPR. Proficiency with Excel (or similar) and experience with Procore or comparable construction platforms is required. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are mandatory.

What you'll do

• Supervise and lead carpentry/general labor crews on site; develop work schedules and assign tasks
• Read and interpret construction documents and shop drawings to guide crew work
• Perform work inspection and quality checks for formwork, concrete-related carpentry and general masonry tasks
• Record crew time and job activity using iPad time reporting for self and crew members
• Manage time-and-material tracking on site and support accurate job reporting
• Provide on-the-job staff training and enforce safety procedures

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years carpentry experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• Proficient with Excel or similar spreadsheet software
• Experience using Procore or similar construction platforms (PlanGrid, BIM360, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, shop drawings and civil/structural layouts
• Current First Aid/CPR certification
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Qualifications
