About This Role

Join a busy construction crew in Chesapeake, VA as a General Laborer. Pay is $18–$24/hr depending on experience, with overtime pay after 40 hours. Work is outdoors and on local commercial and residential sites — tasks are physical and fast-paced with steady shifts and immediate openings. This role is for dependable hands who show up on time, follow directions, and want steady work. No specialized trade license required — we provide on-the-job training, PPE, and a clear path to higher pay for those who learn quickly and stay reliable.

What You'll Do

• • Load and unload materials, tools and equipment from trucks
• • Site cleanup: remove debris, sweep, and keep work areas safe and organized
• • Assist carpenters, concrete crews, and other trades with basic tasks and measurements
• • Operate basic hand tools, power tools, and light equipment under supervision
• • Move materials (shoveling, wheelbarrow, lifting) and help set up/tear down jobsite barricades

What We're Looking For

• • Able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and stand/walk for full shifts
• • Reliable transportation to job site in Chesapeake and surrounding areas
• • Willingness to work outdoors in heat, cold, and rain; flexible to early start times
• • Basic tool knowledge and the ability to follow direction and read simple work orders
• • Pass a drug screening and background check (when required)

Qualifications

• • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• • OSHA-10 card preferred but not required (training available)
• • Basic English required; Spanish speakers encouraged to apply
• • Willing to submit to pre-employment drug test and a background check
