About this role
Hiring 4 stripping laborers in Norfolk, VA to support concrete crews on active job sites. This hands-on role focuses on material handling, loading/unloading, site cleanup, and safely removing formwork from elevated areas under the direction of jobsite supervisors. This is steady, on-site construction work. You will work as part of a crew, follow site safety rules, take part in required training, and support installation and logistics tasks. Good opportunities to train and move up for reliable, hardworking team members.
What you'll do
- Remove and strip formwork and concrete-related materials from elevated areas safely under supervisor direction
- Load, unload, organize, and move construction materials and equipment on site
- Assist crew with installation tasks and basic concrete handling as directed
- Perform site cleanup, debris removal, and maintain a safe work area
- Follow jobsite safety procedures and participate in required site training and toolbox talks
What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent; minimum 1 year related construction or labor experience
- Able to safely remove and strip formwork at height and work from elevated platforms or scaffolding
- Physically fit for manual labor: lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for long periods
- Skilled in organizing and handling construction materials; experience loading/unloading trucks
- Able to follow directions from supervisors, communicate clearly on site, and work as part of a crew
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ year related experience in general labor or concrete/construction support
- Able to pass site-required safety training and any employer screening
- Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor construction conditions
- English proficiency sufficient to follow instructions and safety directions
