About This Role
Join a heavy civil site crew in Roanoke, VA as a General Laborer. This is an entry-level, hands-on role working outdoors on site grading, specialty concrete, and underground utilities. Pay is up to $28/hr depending on experience. You’ll work under a site foreman performing manual tasks, operating basic hand and power tools, and keeping the site safe and organized. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, steady hours, and opportunities to advance into skilled roles.
What You'll Do
- • Perform manual labor on heavy civil construction sites as directed by the foreman
- • Assist with site grading, specialty concrete work, and installation of underground utilities
- • Operate basic hand and power tools and assist equipment operators as needed
- • Maintain clean, safe work areas and follow all site safety rules and PPE requirements
- • Load/unload materials, move supplies, and support crew tasks to keep projects on schedule
What We're Looking For
- • Able to perform physically demanding work and lift 50+ lbs regularly
- • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and on uneven terrain
- • Basic use of hand and power tools and willingness to learn new skills
- • Reliable attendance, ability to follow instructions, and work well on a team
- • Previous construction or sitework experience preferred but not required
Qualifications
- • Eligible to work in the U.S.
- • Valid driver's license preferred (may be required for some assignments)
- • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check if required
- • OSHA 10 or willingness to obtain on hire preferred
- • English and Spanish (ability to speak either language; bilingual a plus)
