General Laborer
About This Role
Join our crew in Columbia, SC as a General Laborer performing essential housekeeping and support work on active construction sites. You’ll handle setup and cleanup, move materials, keep trailers clean, and assist carpenters, masons, and other trades under the direction of a Foreperson. This is hands-on work in a team setting with weather exposure and varied terrain. Pay is competitive and based on experience (DOE). We prioritize safety — report incidents promptly and follow site protocols. Assistance to obtain OSHA-10 training is available if needed.
What You'll Do
- • Perform site setup and clean up, including removal of construction debris and housekeeping inside and outside the project site
- • Assist with deliveries, loading/unloading materials, and proper material storage on site
- • Support carpenters, masons, and other trades with general labor tasks as directed by the Foreperson
- • Clean and sanitize jobsite trailers and common work areas
- • Navigate varied jobsite terrain safely and report any safety incidents or injuries to the Foreperson and Safety Leader
What We're Looking For
- • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience
- • Previous construction or general labor experience preferred
- • Ability to perform physical work: lift, carry, push, and pull materials (frequent heavy lifting)
- • Willingness to work outdoors in variable weather and follow foreperson directions
- • OSHA 10-hour certification required or willingness to obtain (assistance available)
Qualifications
- • OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification (or ability/willingness to obtain upon hire)
- • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
- • Ability to read basic instructions and safety postings (English proficiency preferred)
- • Proof of certifications and credentials provided at time of hire
