General Laborer

About this role

DPR Construction is hiring a General Laborer in Rayville, LA to support project progress through site preparation, material handling, equipment upkeep, and general construction assistance. This craft role executes assignments safely and helps keep daily work moving. The role requires 2–4 years of related experience, a strong safety mindset, and an OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification. The General Laborer will inspect work areas, maintain tools and equipment, support other trades, and communicate jobsite issues to leadership.

What you'll do

• Perform site preparation, material handling, and basic equipment maintenance
• Support other trades and crew members to keep workflow moving efficiently
• Inspect work areas and materials for safety and quality concerns and report issues
• Maintain clean, functional tools, equipment, and work areas
• Follow established safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment
• Communicate daily progress and jobsite issues to leadership

What we're looking for

• 2–4 years of experience in general labor, construction, or a related field
• Strong safety mindset with consistent adherence to safety procedures
• Ability to perform physical labor, handle materials, and assist multiple trades
• Basic equipment upkeep and tool maintenance skills
• Clear communication of progress and jobsite challenges to supervisors
• Follows site protocols for cleanliness and organization

Qualifications

• OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification (required)
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification (preferred)
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
