General Laborer

About this role

Join a commercial construction crew in College Station as a general laborer supporting safe, high-quality projects. You’ll handle site preparation, material staging, debris removal, basic building tasks, and assist skilled trades to keep the job moving. This is a hands-on role for reliable team players who know basic construction practices, use hand and power tools safely, and can work outdoors in a fast-paced environment. Commercial construction experience is preferred; motivated candidates who show up ready to work and learn will do well.

What you'll do

• • Prepare sites: grade, stake, move materials, and stage deliveries for crews
• • Load, unload, and move materials and equipment safely around jobsite
• • Perform daily cleanup and debris removal to maintain a hazard-free site
• • Assist carpenters, concrete crews, and other trades with basic tasks and layout support
• • Operate hand and power tools; experienced laborers may support equipment operation
• • Follow site safety plans, flagging/traffic control directions, and report hazards

What we're looking for

• • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliable attendance
• • Basic construction knowledge and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• • Comfortable using common hand and power tools safely
• • Physical stamina: able to lift and carry heavy materials and work outdoors in varied weather
• • Good communication and teamwork skills; willingness to take direction and learn
• • Previous experience on commercial construction sites preferred

Qualifications

• • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• • Able to read basic drawings and follow site layout instructions
• • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to jobsite
• • Flagging/traffic control certification and OSHA-10 preferred
• • Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• • Physical ability to lift heavy materials (50+ lbs) and perform repetitive tasks
