General Laborer
About This Role
Join a hands-on General Labor role in Columbia, SC earning $20–$30/hr. You’ll perform site setup and cleanup, handle materials, and provide day-to-day support to carpenters, masons, and other contractors. This is outdoor, physical work on active construction sites. You will work under a Foreperson, follow site safety procedures, and report incidents. Basic construction knowledge and a willingness to work in changing weather and high-stress conditions are required. OSHA 10 assistance is available if needed.
What You'll Do
- • Perform setup and cleanup tasks at the job site, including removal and proper disposal of construction debris
- • Load, unload, move and store materials; assist with deliveries and staging of supplies
- • Clean and sanitize jobsite trailers, common areas, and interior/exterior project sites
- • Provide labor support to carpenters, masons, and specialty contractors as directed by the Foreperson
- • Navigate varied jobsite terrain and maintain housekeeping to keep work areas safe and organized
- • Report all safety incidents, injuries, hazards, and near-misses to the Foreperson and Safety Leader
What We're Looking For
- • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and construction experience
- • Hands-on experience with site clean up, loading/unloading material, and general construction tasks preferred
- • Able and willing to work outdoors in high-stress environments and extreme weather fluctuations
- • Physically fit: able to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long periods, bend, and climb as needed
- • Follow safety procedures; OSHA 10-hour certification recommended (assistance provided if needed)
Qualifications
- • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
- • OSHA 10-hour construction certification recommended — assistance available
- • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites
- • Ability to pass a drug screen and provide required identification/certificates upon hire
