Heavy Equipment Fleet Foreman

About This Role

We’re hiring a local heavy equipment fleet foreman within 50 miles of Los Lunas, NM to run a busy yard and rental operation. This is a hands-on foreman role — you’ll manage scheduling, oversee rentals, and handle light mechanical work to keep machines ready and working. Pay up to $30/hr. Ideal candidates have yard or rental experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead a small crew. You’ll be the point person for equipment readiness, maintenance coordination, and day-to-day fleet logistics.

What You'll Do

• • Oversee daily yard and fleet operations, including check-in/check-out and rental scheduling
• • Perform light mechanical work and troubleshoot equipment; coordinate heavier repairs with vendors
• • Schedule and track preventative maintenance to ensure equipment readiness and uptime
• • Supervise, train, and assign tasks to yard techs and operators
• • Maintain accurate equipment records, inspection logs, and parts/inventory lists
• • Ensure safe, clean yard conditions and enforce safety protocols on site

What We're Looking For

• • 3+ years working with heavy equipment or fleet operations; yard or rental experience preferred
• • Mechanical aptitude — able to perform basic repairs, diagnostics, and routine maintenance
• • Strong organizational skills and experience managing schedules and paperwork
• • Leadership experience supervising small crews and training team members
• • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; able to drive trucks and trailers as needed
• • Basic computer skills for work orders, inventory, and simple scheduling tools

Qualifications

• • High school diploma or GED
• • Basic heavy-equipment service knowledge or equivalent hands-on experience
• • Preferred: manufacturer or ASE equipment certifications
• • Preferred: CDL Class A or ability to obtain one
• • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurability
• • English required; Spanish a plus
