About this role
Work in a service-center shop in Eagleville, TN maintaining and repairing equipment from portable generators to 40,000-lb track excavators. You’ll inspect, diagnose and fix mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and engine issues using gauges, analyzers and computerized diagnostic tools. This is a hands-on role. Expect routine preventive maintenance, disassembly/inspection, welding, test-driving or load-testing repaired units, documenting completed work and responding to occasional emergency calls outside normal hours. Typical work weeks range from 40–50 hours with indoor shop work most days and periodic outdoor checks.
What you'll do
- Inspect equipment and tools to determine service, repair, or preventive maintenance needs
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and engine problems using gauges and computerized diagnostic devices
- Disassemble, clean, repair or replace parts, weld as needed and perform post-repair testing
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on on‑road vehicles, small power tools, and light/heavy equipment up to 40,000-lb
- Document service records, complete equipment/tool tags and include checklists in equipment cabs
- Respond to emergency service calls outside normal business hours when required
What we're looking for
- High school diploma or GED
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment maintenance and repair, plus small tool and automotive maintenance
- Ability to read service manuals, schematics and technical drawings
- Proven troubleshooting skills for diesel/gas engines, hydraulics, fuel/emissions and electrical systems
- Basic computer skills for work orders, email and record keeping
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, working in confined spaces and standing for long periods
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- OSHA 10 (required when offered) and OSHA 30 (preferred)
- First Aid / CPR certification (preferred)
- ASE or equivalent heavy equipment/vehicle certifications (preferred)
- Aerial lift and all-terrain material handler certifications when offered
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
