Heavy Equipment Operator (Per Diem)
About This Role
Seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators in Seminole, TX for per diem road and right-of-way maintenance work. You’ll run dozers, excavators, loaders and other heavy machines to load, haul, grade, trench and repair roads and drainage systems across varied terrain. This role requires hands-on equipment inspection and basic maintenance, safe operation on rough surfaces, and the ability to train or mentor less-experienced crew members. Reliable candidates will get steady project work, per diem pay, and the chance to work on a variety of municipal and ROW jobs.
What You'll Do
- • Operate dozers, excavators, loaders and related heavy equipment for road, ditch and right-of-way work
- • Load, haul and spread gravel, dirt and other materials; smooth and grade road surfaces
- • Trench and construct ditches; install culverts, water and sewer pipe and remove silt/debris
- • Inspect equipment daily — check fluid levels, lubrication points, tracks/tires and report defects
- • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs; keep equipment clean and fueled
- • Train and mentor crew on safe equipment operation and proper job techniques
What We're Looking For
- • Proven experience operating dozers, excavators and loaders in road or ROW work
- • Ability to work on rough, uneven terrain and in all weather conditions
- • Read and follow simple plans, grade stakes and verbal job instructions
- • Perform basic equipment inspections and routine maintenance
- • Willingness to travel as a per diem worker and follow site safety rules
Qualifications
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job start location
- • Clean drug test and background check required prior to start
- • OSHA 10 (preferred) or equivalent safety training
- • NCCER or manufacturer equipment certifications preferred but not required
- • Basic English for safety communication; Spanish bilingual a plus
