Heavy Equipment Operator — Indiana/Ohio

About This Role

We are hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Operators located in Indiana or Ohio to run heavy machinery on civil, demolition, and concrete projects. Jobs include roadwork, site prep, utility and commercial projects across local and regional sites. You’ll operate dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, skid steers and haul units while following site safety rules and keeping equipment maintained. This is hands-on work: expect physical tasks, routine equipment checks, and steady hours with overtime available.

What You'll Do

  • Safely operate dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, skid steers, scrapers and dump trucks for site grading, excavation, loading and hauling
  • Load and unload materials; spot and secure loads for transport
  • Perform daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance and report mechanical issues
  • Follow site plans and grade stakes to complete civil and concrete prep work
  • Assist with demolition work, shoring and cleanup as directed by foremen
  • Follow all site safety procedures, communicate with crew and maintain a clean work area

What We're Looking For

  • Proven hands-on experience operating a range of heavy equipment on civil, demolition or construction projects
  • Ability to perform basic heavy equipment maintenance and daily inspections
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and lifting/standing for long periods
  • Able to read basic plans, follow directions from foremen and work as part of a crew
  • Available to work on projects located within Indiana or Ohio and travel between sites as needed
  • Willing to submit to pre-employment drug screen and background check

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license; CDL Class A preferred where required
  • Forklift certification and equipment-operator certifications a plus
  • OSHA 10 (minimum) or OSHA 30 preferred
  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent work experience)
  • Ability to pass drug screen, background check and physical exam
  • Clear communication in English; other languages a plus
