Heavy Equipment Foreman

About This Role

Looking for a hands-on Heavy Equipment Foreman to lead crews and manage a fleet of machines in the Eagle Mountain / Salt Lake City area. You'll run jobsites, coordinate equipment, and keep crews moving on residential and light commercial projects within 60 miles of Eagle Mountain, UT. This is a working foreman role — you will operate equipment daily, supervise operators, handle fleet upkeep and scheduling, enforce safety, and communicate with office staff and rental vendors. Candidates should have at least 2 years operating and supervising heavy equipment and be ready to manage crews in the field.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise daily equipment operations and on-site crews; assign tasks and ensure work is done on schedule
  • Operate heavy machinery as needed (dozer, excavator, loader, skid steer) and assist crew on critical tasks
  • Manage fleet logistics: schedule equipment, coordinate rentals/returns, track locations and utilization
  • Perform and document routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance; coordinate repairs with vendors
  • Enforce jobsite safety rules, perform toolbox talks, and report incidents promptly
  • Load/unload materials, oversee site setup, and ensure proper handling and storage of equipment

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years experience operating heavy equipment and at least 1 year in a supervisory or foreman role
  • Comfortable operating dozers, excavators, loaders, skid steers and towing/transporting equipment
  • Experience managing fleet schedules, equipment checklists, and coordinating with rental vendors
  • Strong verbal and written communication with crews and office staff; clear leadership on site
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for routine maintenance and inspections; ability to spot and report issues
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to travel within a 60-mile radius of Eagle Mountain, UT

Qualifications

  • OSHA 10-hour construction safety card (preferred)
  • Equipment operator certification or formal training (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL Class A/B a plus but not required
  • Ability to pass drug screen and background/MVR check
  • Spanish/English bilingual a plus
