About this role

Seeking a dependable light equipment operator for site work in Cartersville, GA. You’ll run smaller construction equipment to support paving, grading, and material handling on local projects. This is hands-on work; you’ll be expected to operate machines safely and keep equipment maintained. Typical schedule is day shifts with regular weekday hours and possible overtime as project needs dictate. Local work — home each night. Clear communication, a strong work ethic, and practical equipment experience are required.

What you'll do

• • Operate light and heavy construction equipment on site, including skid steers, loaders, backhoes, dozers, excavators, and paving support machines
• • Load and unload materials, move stockpiles, and position equipment for crews and subcontractors
• • Perform site prep tasks: grading, trenching, backfilling, and basic compaction work
• • Complete pre- and post-shift equipment checks; report defects and perform basic maintenance and cleaning
• • Follow site plans, directions from foremen, and established safety procedures at all times
• • Work with crew to stage materials, assist trade partners, and keep the work area organized

What we're looking for

• • Proven experience operating skid steers, loaders, backhoes, dozers, and excavators on construction sites
• • Comfortable loading and unloading materials and positioning equipment under direction
• • Ability to read basic site instructions, follow measurements, and work from grade stakes
• • Physically fit for climbing on equipment, handling materials, and lifting regularly
• • Reliable transportation to Cartersville job site and punctual attendance
• • Willingness to complete site-specific safety orientation and training

Qualifications

• • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job site
• • Documented equipment experience (logbook, supervisor reference, or equivalent)
• • Ability to read basic plans and follow verbal/site instructions
• • Comfort lifting and carrying 50+ lbs and working outdoors in varied conditions
• • Willing to obtain site-required certifications (OSHA 10, equipment certs) if requested
