Skid Steer Operator — Ohio

About this role

We are hiring a skid steer operator to support solar construction projects across Ohio. You’ll run skid steers on-site to move material, grade work areas, load and unload supplies, and support civil site prep for PV farms. This is outdoor, hands-on construction work on active solar jobsites. Expect travel within the state, variable ground conditions including steep terrain, and a project-focused schedule. Candidates should be ready for physical work, safe equipment operation, and basic on-site maintenance.

What you'll do

• • Operate skid steer safely to move materials, load/unload trucks, and assist in site grading and prep
• • Support PV solar site construction tasks: spreading aggregate, trench cleanup, and base preparation
• • Work on steep or uneven terrain while maintaining safe machine operation and site awareness
• • Perform daily equipment checks, basic maintenance, and report mechanical issues
• • Follow site safety rules, attend site-specific safety briefings, and coordinate with crew leads

What we're looking for

• • Proven skid steer operation experience on construction or solar sites
• • Experience working on PV (solar) farm projects or similar civil site work
• • Hands-on experience loading/unloading materials and working with truck drivers
• • Ability to operate on steep or uneven terrain and in variable weather conditions
• • Basic heavy equipment maintenance skills and ability to complete pre-shift inspections
• • Reliable transportation to job sites and ability to travel within Ohio as required

Qualifications

• • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• • Current equipment operator certification or documented experience on skid steers (preferred)
• • OSHA 10-hour or equivalent construction safety training preferred
• • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
• • English proficiency for on-site communication and safety briefings
