Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (Lead Manufacturing Technician)

About this role

Join a Phoenix production team as the lead Industrial Maintenance Mechanic focused on advanced manufacturing equipment and process reliability. You will own process stability for critical work cells, resolve high-impact equipment and quality issues, and provide technical direction across shifts. This role is hands-on and technical: you’ll set up, optimize, and troubleshoot complex machinery, analyze equipment and production data to drive sustainable improvements, and coach technicians to maintain consistent output and meet safety and quality requirements. Primarily day shift with expectations to support other shifts or be on-call for critical issues.

What you'll do

• • Lead setup, operation, and optimization of complex manufacturing equipment and integrated production systems.
• • Diagnose and resolve high-risk equipment, process, and quality issues using advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• • Own specific work cells or critical processes, enforce standard and non-standard operating procedures, and drive process stability.
• • Analyze production, quality, and equipment performance data to identify root causes and implement permanent fixes.
• • Provide technical direction, coach technicians, prioritize work, and maintain continuity across shifts or work areas.

What we're looking for

• • 6–9 years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex machinery.
• • Proven system troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and control systems (PLC/HMI experience).
• • Leadership and team management experience; able to coach technicians and direct technical work across shifts.
• • Strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with operators, engineers, and quality teams.
• • Experience performing preventive maintenance inspections, heavy equipment maintenance, and work inspections.
• • Knowledge of quality control processes and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• • High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or related field preferred
• • 6–9 years of hands-on manufacturing maintenance experience
• • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills; PLC/HMI troubleshooting experience
• • Ability to read electrical schematics, pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams, and mechanical prints
• • Experience leading or mentoring technicians; demonstrated ability to drive consistent execution
• • Site safety training (OSHA 10 or equivalent) or willingness to complete before starting
• • Valid driver's license and ability to pass background and drug screening
• • Spanish language skills a plus
