Greenville, MS $27-$32/hr

About This Role

Industrial power project in Greenville, MS needs an experienced Ironworker Journeyman to perform structural steel layout, fabrication and erection. You’ll read blueprints and specs, rig and hoist steel, align/bolt/weld members, and work at heights on cranes, manlifts and scaffolds. This is a hands-on lead role: you’ll install and inspect crew work for compliance with drawings and codes, enforce safe work practices, and help drive production on a heavy industrial site. Must have 5+ years industrial ironwork experience and be able to pass pre-access drug/alcohol testing and a fit-for-duty medical.

What You'll Do

  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications and codes to perform steel layout and installation.
  • Fabricate, assemble and erect structural steel: position, align, bolt and weld beams, columns, girders and frames.
  • Rig, hoist and signal cranes; assemble rigging and use turnbuckles, jacks and hand tools to set and secure steel.
  • Verify vertical and horizontal alignment using plumb bobs, lasers, transits and levels; make final adjustments for bolting/welding.
  • Lead and inspect subordinate crew work for compliance with plans and specs; identify deficiencies and take corrective action.
  • Work safely at heights (may exceed 200 feet) using manlifts, scaffolds and fall protection; follow all site safety rules and procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of industrial construction/ironwork experience on heavy industrial projects.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs and codes for structural steel layout and installation.
  • Skilled in rigging, hoisting, crane signaling, and setting/aligning structural steel.
  • Able to bolt and perform general welding tasks; comfortable with cutting, bending and fitting steel.
  • Comfortable working at heights (200+ ft), on scaffolds, manlifts and cranes; able to climb and maintain balance on formwork and ladders.
  • Must pass pre-access drug/alcohol testing and fit-for-duty medical; must have required personal hand tools and reliable transportation as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Preferred: OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 and rigging/crane signaling certification.
  • Welding certification (AWS or equivalent) or demonstrable welding experience a plus.
  • Must have and maintain required personal tools; valid U.S. driver’s license may be required.
  • English — able to read drawings and communicate clearly on site.

What We Offer

  • Pay $35.00/hr base rate.
  • $700 weekly per diem if eligible.
  • Work schedule: 5x10s with overtime available; $1/hr night shift differential.
  • Eligible rehires may receive additional incentive compensation.
  • Consistent heavy industrial work — steady project duration and predictable schedule.
