Ironworker Foreman — Night Shift (Greenville, MS)
About This Role
Night-shift Ironworker Foreman needed for a 6-month industrial/power project in Greenville, MS. Lead a crew on 5x10s (Mon–Fri nights), work hands-on with layout, fabrication, rigging, hoisting and structural steel erection. Pay is $32/hr + $1/hr night differential, with $100/day per diem if traveling 50+ miles. You’ll read blueprints and specs, supervise and inspect crews, ensure safety and quality, and perform hands-on rigging, alignment and bolting at heights up to 200+ ft. Strong foreman-level experience on structural steel projects and proven leadership on industrial sites is required. Project may extend beyond 6 months for the right leader.
What You'll Do
- • Read and interpret blueprints, specs and site drawings to determine layout and required materials
- • Layout, cut, fabricate, weld and prepare structural steel members for erection
- • Rig, hoist and set beams, columns and girders using cranes and hoisting gear; perform crane signaling as needed
- • Align, bolt, pull and secure steel; verify vertical and horizontal alignment with levels, transits or lasers
- • Supervise and inspect crew work for compliance with plans and quality standards; identify and correct deficiencies
- • Assemble and maintain rigging equipment; estimate material needs and coordinate with supervision for resources
What We're Looking For
- • Minimum several years of structural ironworking experience; proven foreman-level leadership on industrial or power projects
- • Skilled in blueprint reading, structural welding, layout and steel erection techniques
- • Experienced with rigging, hoisting equipment, crane signaling and working with crane operators
- • Comfortable working at heights up to and exceeding 200 feet; able to climb and maintain balance on steel, ladders and scaffolds
- • Must have hand tools required for ironworking jobs and be able to perform physically demanding tasks
- • Willing to work night shift schedule (5x10s Mon–Fri), pass pre-access drug/alcohol testing and follow all site safety rules
Qualifications
- • Journeyman ironworker ticket or equivalent proven experience as a foreman
- • OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred
- • Rigging or crane signaling certification (NCCCO or equivalent) preferred
- • Welding certification (AWS or employer-equivalent) preferred
- • Valid U.S. driver’s license may be required
- • Able to read and communicate in English; able to pass pre-access drug/alcohol screening
