Ironworker Foreman — Night Shift
About this role
Night-shift Ironworker Foreman needed in Greenville, MS for a 6-month industrial/power project. Lead a crew on structural steel layout, fabrication and erection per blueprints and specs. This is a hands-on foreman role — you’ll be in the field setting, aligning, bolting, and welding steel. You’ll supervise ironworkers, direct rigging and hoisting operations, enforce safety and quality standards, and inspect work for compliance. Schedule is Monday–Friday, nights (5x10s). Per-diem and benefits are provided for workers traveling from out of area. Project may extend.
What you'll do
- • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine layout, quantities, and sequence of work
- • Lay out, fabricate, cut, weld, and erect structural steel members to plans and industry standards
- • Rig, hoist, align, bolt and secure steel using cranes, hoisting equipment and hand tools
- • Supervise and direct ironworker crew on night shift; assign tasks and maintain productivity
- • Inspect subordinate work for compliance with plans and specifications; identify deficiencies and require corrective action
- • Enforce site safety procedures, perform crane signaling, and confirm proper rigging practices
What we're looking for
- • Proven ironworking experience with structural steel erection on industrial or power projects
- • Foreman-level leadership with crew supervision and on-site coordination experience
- • Hands-on rigging and hoisting experience; comfortable directing crane operations and signaling
- • Comfortable working at heights (200 feet or higher) and in variable weather conditions
- • Must have basic welding, cutting and layout skills and be able to read drawings accurately
- • Able to move around a construction site, climb ladders/scaffolds, and handle physical labor
Qualifications
- • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent construction experience
- • Journeyman-level ironworker experience or prior foreman experience preferred
- • Formal rigging/crane signaling and structural welding credentials preferred
- • Site safety training (10- or 30-hour safety course preferred) and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- • Valid driver’s license may be required and must be able to pass pre-access drug/alcohol testing
- • Must have required personal tools and PPE
