Ironworker Foreman
About This Role
Experienced Ironworker Foreman needed in Lakeland, FL to lead structural steel erection crews on commercial and industrial projects. You will run day-to-day operations, enforce jobsite safety, and ensure welds and connections meet plans and specs. This role requires 5+ years in steel erection, proven leadership, and advanced welding skills (3G, 4G and TIG). You’ll mentor journeymen and apprentices, coordinate with project leads, and be accountable for quality and schedule on assigned scopes.
What You'll Do
- • Supervise and lead steel erection crews: install columns, beams, and bracing per drawings
- • Perform and/or supervise advanced welding (3G, 4G, TIG) and inspect welds for quality and code compliance
- • Read and interpret structural drawings, layout points, and connection details on site
- • Enforce jobsite safety and OSHA requirements; conduct pre-shift briefings and safety checks
- • Train and mentor junior ironworkers; provide hands-on guidance and corrective feedback
- • Coordinate daily with superintendents, rigging crews, and inspectors to keep work on schedule
What We're Looking For
- • Minimum 5 years’ experience in structural steel erection and ironwork with foreman or lead experience
- • 3G and 4G welding certifications required; demonstrable TIG welding skill required
- • Strong leadership and crew-management skills with clear verbal and written communication
- • Proven ability to inspect work, ensure compliance with plans/specs, and troubleshoot field fit-up issues
- • Comfortable performing physical work at heights and in varied weather; able to lift and handle heavy materials
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to jobsite
Qualifications
- • 3G Welding Certification (required)
- • 4G Welding Certification (required)
- • TIG welding certification or demonstrated TIG proficiency
- • 5+ years structural steel erection experience, including foreman duties
- • OSHA 10 or 30 (preferred)
- • Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screen; conversational English
