Ironworker Foreman
About This Role
Seeking an experienced Ironworker Foreman in Lakeland, FL to lead hands-on structural steel erection projects. You must have 5+ years in steel erection and strong advanced welding skills (3G, 4G, TIG). This is a field-facing role — you'll be in charge of crews, welding assignments, and on-site quality. You will run daily operations on commercial and industrial jobsites, enforce safety and specs, and train junior ironworkers. If you take pride in clean welds, accurate installs, and keeping crews moving safely, this role is for you.
What You'll Do
- • Supervise and coordinate steel erection crews on-site; set daily priorities and assign tasks
- • Perform advanced welding (3G, 4G, TIG) and verify weld quality on critical connections
- • Install and align steel columns, beams, and other members; connect and secure members per plans
- • Inspect work for compliance with drawings, specs, and welding procedures; correct defects
- • Enforce jobsite safety, PPE use, and safe rigging/lifting practices; conduct toolbox talks
- • Mentor and train junior ironworkers and welders; maintain crew productivity and discipline
What We're Looking For
- • Minimum 5 years proven experience in steel erection and field supervision
- • Advanced welding ability with demonstrated experience in 3G, 4G, and TIG processes
- • Leadership and team management — able to direct crews and work with supervisors
- • Strong verbal and written communication across trades, inspectors, and foremen
- • Hands-on skills installing steel columns, beams, and connecting members; general ironwork
- • Experience performing work inspection, quality checks, and documenting daily reports
Qualifications
- • 3G Welding Certification (required)
- • 4G Welding Certification (required)
- • TIG welding certification or documented TIG welding experience
- • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites
- • OSHA 10 (required) or OSHA 30 (preferred); safety-minded record
- • Able to read blueprints and welding symbols; English proficiency for reporting
