About this role

Seeking experienced journeyman ironworkers near Milton, FL for structural and welding-focused field assignments. This role centers on structural and miscellaneous ironwork with heavy emphasis on certified 3G and 4G welding on structural steel. Assignments are per diem and typically require travel and multi-day placement. You’ll work on-site with crews to set, fit, weld, and finish structural members to drawings and specs. Candidates must be able to work at heights, follow site safety procedures, and complete required site paperwork. Reliable attendance, journeyman-level field experience, and required certifications are mandatory.

What you'll do

  • Perform structural and miscellaneous ironwork: set, fit, brace, and secure steel members on construction sites.
  • Execute 3G and 4G welds on structural steel per project welding procedure specifications.
  • Read and interpret shop and field drawings to lay out, measure, and verify components.
  • Operate rigging gear and follow rigging plans to safely move and place materials (work with NCCCO rigger practices).
  • Inspect and grind welds as required; assist with weld QC and report nonconforming work.
  • Follow site safety rules, complete required site orientation, and maintain clean, organized work areas.

What we're looking for

  • Journeyman-level field experience on structural steel projects.
  • Proven structural steel welding skills and general welding experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and layouts.
  • Comfortable working at heights, on elevated platforms, and in variable weather.
  • Willingness to travel for per diem assignments and remain on multi-day jobs.
