Ironworker/Welder

About this role

Experienced Ironworker/Welder wanted for full-time structural steel erection and welding work in Lakeland, FL. This role centers on SMAW (STICK) welding in all positions, setting and connecting steel members, and supporting rigging and millwright-style tasks on site. Candidates should be comfortable working at heights and in varying weather. Preference given to those with amusement-ride or theme construction experience. Must be open to nights, weekends, and travel. Candidates will be required to pass a welding test and demonstrate safe rigging and crane-signaling abilities before and during work assignments.

What you'll do

• • Perform SMAW (STICK) welding in all positions to join and repair structural members
• • Erect steel columns, beams, bar joists, roof/floor frames, stairs, catwalks and handrails
• • Install amusement ride structures and related components; bolt, weld, cut, and fit members per plans
• • Set and grout precast hollow core planks, install edge angles, bent plates, ladders, grating and guardrails
• • Signal equipment operators, support rigging operations and assist with layout from blueprints and shop drawings
• • Keep jobsite clean and safe, follow site safety rules and perform other assigned tasks to meet project timelines

What we're looking for

• • Proven SMAW (STICK) welding ability; must pass employer welding test
• • Rigging experience and ability to signal and assist crane operators safely
• • Comfortable working at heights, in all weather; able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• • Mechanical aptitude for basic millwright and layout tasks; able to read basic blueprints and drawings
• • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; willing to travel and stay overnight when required
• • OSHA 10 certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days; reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Qualifications

• • 3G and 4G welding certifications (SMAW/STICK preferred)
• • OSHA 10 (or obtain within 90 days of hire)
• • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• • Ability to pass on-site welding test and rigging assessments
• • English — able to read instructions, plans and communicate on site
