Ironworker/Welder — STICK (SMAW) Welder

About This Role

Experienced Ironworker/Welder needed for full-time structural steel work in Lakeland, FL. Pay ranges $25–$29/hr DOE. You’ll perform STICK (SMAW) welding in all positions, erect structural members, install amusement ride components, and support rigging operations on site. Schedule includes nights, weekends, and travel as needed. This is hands-on, physical work for someone with proven SMAW skills and rigging experience. Amusement ride or theme-park construction experience is a strong plus. Candidates must be able to pass a welding test, work at heights, follow blueprints, and commit to safety and reliable attendance.

What You'll Do

• • Perform SMAW (STICK) welding in all positions on structural steel members
• • Erect steel columns, beams, bar joists, roof/floor frames, stairs and other structural components
• • Install amusement ride structures and related components (tracks, catwalks, handrails, guardrails)
• • Cut, bolt, fit and weld members in place; set and grout precast hollow core planks
• • Signal equipment operators and support rigging, slinging and hoisting operations
• • Read and follow blueprints, shop drawings and safety procedures; maintain a clean, safe job site

What We're Looking For

• • Proven SMAW (STICK) welding skill; must pass company welding test on hire
• • Rigging experience and ability to signal crane operators
• • 3G and 4G welding capability preferred; mechanical aptitude for basic millwright tasks
• • Comfortable working at heights, in varied weather and able to lift up to 50 lbs
• • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; willingness to travel and stay overnight when required
• • OSHA 10 (or ability to obtain within 90 days), reliable attendance and ability to follow instructions

Qualifications

• • 3G and 4G welding certifications (SMAW) or equivalent experience
• • Must pass pre-employment welding test
• • OSHA 10 certification (or obtain within 90 days)
• • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• • English language proficiency
