Industrial Pipefitter — Chrome-Moly Piping

Nationwide $24-$41/hr

About this role

Seeking an experienced industrial pipefitter for nationwide power-plant and heavy industrial projects. This role focuses on hands-on chrome-moly piping (P11, P22, P91), high-pressure fit-up, and working from complex isometrics and spool drawings. You will work on fuel gas, fuel oil, cooling/process water, and turbine-associated piping systems. Expect project-based assignments across the U.S.; technicians must work independently with tight quality and code requirements and follow site safety programs.

What you'll do

  • Read and install piping from isometric drawings, P&IDs, spool drawings and specifications with minimal supervision
  • Measure, cut, bevel, fit and align chrome-moly and carbon/stainless piping for high-pressure/high-temperature systems
  • Perform precision fit-up for flanged and welded connections; set root gaps, bevel angles and align joints per WPS
  • Prepare piping for hydrostatic and pneumatic testing; coordinate NDE/inspection and correct fit-up deficiencies
  • Follow ASME B31.1 and project quality documentation; maintain material traceability and prevent contamination of chrome alloys
  • Use rigging and positioning tools (chain falls, come-alongs, clamps) and install supports, hangers and engineered anchors

What we're looking for

  • 4–5+ years industrial pipefitting experience on power plants, turbines, refineries or heavy industrial sites preferred
  • Hands-on chrome-moly piping experience (P11, P22, P91) — material ID, handling, fit-up and preheat/PWHT awareness (critical)
  • Ability to independently read/interp ret piping isometrics, P&IDs, spool drawings, elevations and specifications
  • Experience with fuel gas, fuel oil, cooling/process water and turbine-associated piping systems; high-pressure piping fit-up
  • Working knowledge of ASME B31.1, hydro/pneumatic test prep, NDE coordination, PMI awareness and quality inspection requirements
  • Proficient with pipefitting tools, precision measuring instruments and safe rigging/material-handling practices

Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (preferred or as required by project)
  • Minimum 4–5 years industrial pipefitting experience; documented chrome-alloy work history strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with ASME B31.1 and piping code/quality requirements
  • Ability to read piping isometrics, P&IDs and spool drawings independently
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel nationwide for project assignments

What we offer

  • Site-specific safety and orientation training provided; company-issued PPE where required
  • Out-of-area travel assignments with per-diem and travel coordination for nationwide projects
  • Steady project pipeline with opportunity for extended project assignments and overtime
  • Paid safety training and support for required certifications as needed
  • Tool allowances or shop support and access to field fit-up and alignment equipment
