Pipefitter — HDPE Fusion (Carrollton, GA)
About this role
We are looking for experienced pipefitters in Carrollton, GA to perform HDPE fusion welding and install HDPE piping systems on active construction sites. This hands-on role focuses on accurate layout, precise fusion joins, and dependable installation of underground and above-ground HDPE piping. Ideal candidates are comfortable setting up and operating fusion equipment, reading piping and mechanical blueprints, and working safely in field conditions. The position is full-time on-site work with project-driven hours, including possible overtime and weekend work depending on project needs.
What you'll do
- • Perform HDPE fusion welding (butt/heat fusion) per manufacturer and project specifications.
- • Set up, calibrate, operate, and perform basic maintenance on fusion equipment and tools.
- • Fit, align, cut, and install HDPE piping systems for underground and above-ground applications.
- • Read and follow layout drawings, piping diagrams, and mechanical blueprints to ensure correct installation.
- • Inspect and test fused joints for integrity, document welds, and maintain quality records.
- • Follow site safety plans, maintain a clean work area, and coordinate with crew and superintendents on daily tasks.
What we're looking for
- • Proven experience performing HDPE fusion welding and pipe joining on construction projects.
- • Solid skills in general pipefitting, piping installation, and underground pipework.
- • Ability to read and interpret piping and mechanical blueprints and layout instructions.
- • Experience with soldering/brazing, steel and copper pipe installations, and DWV systems is a plus.
- • Physically able to lift heavy pipe, work outdoors in variable conditions, and follow site safety protocols.
Qualifications
- • HDPE fusion certification or documented fusion welding experience.
- • OSHA 10-hour construction card preferred.
- • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the Carrollton site.
- • Ability to pass drug screening and background check.
- • Basic math skills and competency with measuring tools and layout equipment.
