About this role
Join a heavy industrial construction crew in Iva, SC as a pipefitter performing pipe welding, layout and fabrication on commercial and industrial projects. This is a per diem role — you’ll work on site performing hands-on pipefitting and welding tasks to plans and specifications. We need experienced tradespeople who read isometrics, P&IDs and specs, follow safety and quality standards, and can pass required weld test(s). Expect long, physically demanding shifts (up to 12 hours), outdoor work, and a focus on producing high-quality, code-compliant pipe systems.
What you'll do
- Read drawings, isometrics, P&IDs and specifications to plan and lay out piping systems
- Perform pipe welding and fabrication using specified processes and follow weld procedures
- Fit, assemble and install piping components, supports and hangers per plans
- Inspect own work and subordinates’ work for accuracy and code/spec compliance; correct deficiencies
- Keep work area organized, report material/tool needs and follow site safety rules and procedures
What we're looking for
- Minimum 3+ years industrial/commercial pipefitting experience (senior level 6+ years) depending on job level
- Able to read and interpret isometrics, P&IDs, mechanical blueprints and specifications
- Proven ability to pass required weld test(s) for the work being performed
- Hands-on experience with SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW as required by the scope
- Strong trade math, oral/written communication, and commitment to safe, quality workmanship
Qualifications
- 3+ years (Level I), 4 years (Level II), 5 years (Level III), 6+ years (Senior) — industrial/commercial construction experience
- Must pass site-required weld test(s)
- Experience with SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW
- Proficient in reading isometrics, P&IDs, and piping/mechanical blueprints
- Able to work up to 12-hour physically demanding shifts in outdoor and industrial conditions and wear required PPE
