Pipefitter Journeyman

About This Role

Join a power plant project in Louisville, KY as an experienced Pipefitter Journeyman. This is a per diem position on an industrial site working on installation, fabrication, maintenance, and repair of mechanical piping systems. Pay is up to $35/hr depending on experience. You’ll work with steel pipe, valves, flanges and fittings on heavy industrial systems. Expect to read and work from piping and mechanical blueprints, perform butt-weld fabrication, soldering/brazing as needed, and follow strict safety and lockout/tagout procedures on site.

What You'll Do

• • Install, assemble, fit and align steel piping, valves, flanges and supports per blueprints and spool drawings
• • Measure, mark, cut, bevel and tack pipe for butt-weld fabrication and complete final weld preparations
• • Perform valve installations, piping tie-ins, leak repair, and mechanical testing as required
• • Read and interpret piping & mechanical blueprints, isometrics and technical drawings on site
• • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections, troubleshoot system issues and perform repairs
• • Follow site safety rules, enforce PPE and lockout/tagout procedures during all work

What We're Looking For

• • Journeyman-level pipefitting experience on industrial or power plant projects
• • Proven ability to read and interpret piping isometrics, mechanical blueprints and technical drawings
• • Skilled in butt-weld pipe fabrication, valve installation, soldering and brazing
• • Comfortable using hand and power tools for measuring, cutting, beveling and fitting pipe
• • Able to follow safety procedures, work in confined spaces, at heights, and lift equipment as needed

Qualifications

• • Journeyman pipefitter card or documented journeyman-level experience
• • Welding qualification or experience in butt-weld pipe fabrication (fit-up/weld prep)
• • Soldering/brazing experience and pipefitting certifications preferred
• • Current OSHA safety training (OSHA 10 or 30 preferred)
• • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass drug screen/background check
