Quality Control (QA/QC) Manager

Nationwide

About this role

Seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to lead QA/QC on governmental construction projects at multiple domestic locations. You will run contract compliance, implement the project quality control program, schedule and witness inspections and testing, document results, and drive corrective actions until issues are closed. This is a full-time, site-facing role that requires travel to project locations, hands-on inspections, and regular coordination with owners, agencies, subcontractors, and project management. Expect work in active construction settings with physical tasks and variable conditions.

What you'll do

  • Administer and implement the company Quality Control Manual and project QC plan across assigned government projects.
  • Schedule, perform, and witness inspections and testing; document findings and maintain inspection records, logs, and test reports.
  • Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, materials, equipment, and workmanship for compliance with contract requirements.
  • Issue deficiency reports to subcontractors and track corrective actions through completion; develop punch lists and lead final inspections and acceptance.
  • Coordinate with owners, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and project teams on quality-related matters and prepare required compliance reports.
  • Monitor daily construction activities for compliance with quality and environmental requirements; recommend and implement corrective measures when needed.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 10 years construction experience with at least 4 years as a Quality Control or QA/QC Manager on commercial or government projects.
  • Familiarity with federal/government construction requirements, including EM 385-1-1 or similar federal safety guidance.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, RFIs, and as-builts.
  • Proven experience performing and witnessing field inspections and construction testing; strong documentation and report-writing skills.
  • Solid communication skills — able to give clear direction to trades, write concise reports, and coordinate with owners and agencies.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and common project documentation tools; able and willing to travel to job sites.

Qualifications

  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Outreach certification (required).
  • Construction Quality Management training certification or willingness to obtain on hire.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent experience preferred; PE or licensed architect a plus.
  • Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 and federal construction compliance requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently; ability to perform physical tasks on active construction sites (lift, climb, crawl).

What we offer

  • Paid vacation and company-observed holidays.
  • Company-paid medical insurance with employer contribution to dental and vision plans.
  • Life and disability insurance coverage for full-time employees.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match.
  • Gym membership reimbursement and access to company-provided temporary housing when project assignments require it.
