Rigger Journeyman — Night Shift (Greenville, MS)
About this role
Experienced Rigger Journeyman needed for an industrial power project in Greenville, MS on a night-shift 5x10 schedule. You will set up and rig large-scale equipment, machinery, pipe, and steel, working to plans, specs, codes and site safety standards. This role requires hands-on rigging and lift work — shakeout, rig selection and installation, tag-line guidance, and basic rigging procedure development. Position includes per diem eligibility, site-provided safety training, and possible rehire incentives for qualified candidates.
What you'll do
- • Set up and rig large-scale heavy equipment, machinery, pipe, and steel for crane lifts and installs
- • Perform shakeout and sequence items for hoisting; position, align, and level equipment into final location
- • Guide rigged loads using tag lines and communicate using standard crane signals
- • Lay out, select, and install rigging components; develop basic rigging procedures for lifts
- • Interpret plans and specifications, estimate sizes/distances, and identify safe rigging points and tensions
- • Inspect subordinate work for compliance with plans/specs, identify deficiencies, and correct actions
What we're looking for
- • 5+ years’ rigging experience in industrial or power plant construction
- • Able to read and interpret drawings, specs, and site layout for lift planning
- • Knowledge of crane signals, lift planning, rated rigging, and LHE dynamics
- • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoors in variable conditions on a 5x10 night schedule
- • Must provide and use required hand tools and PPE; may require a valid U.S. driver’s license
- • Able to pass pre-access drug/alcohol screening and fit-for-duty testing
Qualifications
- • Proven experience as a Rigger Journeyman in power/industrial projects
- • Rigging certification or equivalent preferred; crane-signal certification a plus
- • Skilled with lift planning, site layout, and estimating rigging requirements
- • Able to pass pre-access drug/alcohol and fit-for-duty tests
- • Valid U.S. driver’s license (if required by site) and own basic rigging/hand tools
