Rigger Journeyman
About This Role
Experienced Rigger Journeyman needed for an industrial power project in Greenville, MS. Night-shift position focused on rigging, setting, and aligning heavy equipment, machinery, pipe, and steel to plans, specs and industry safety standards on a 5x10 schedule. You will plan and lay out rigging, select and install rated rigging components, guide loads with tag lines, and inspect subordinate work. Pay is $36/hr with a $1/hr night shift differential and a weekly per diem of $700 if eligible. Eligible rehires may receive additional incentive compensation.
What You'll Do
- • Plan, lay out and set up rigging for heavy equipment, machinery, pipe and steel per plans and specs
- • Select and install rated rigging components; develop basic rigging and lift procedures
- • Guide loads into position with tag lines and use crane signals to coordinate lifts
- • Estimate sizes, distances and lift tensions; identify safe rigging points
- • Inspect subordinate work for compliance, point out deficiencies and take corrective action
- • Work safely at heights, in confined spaces and in varying outdoor conditions
What We're Looking For
- • 5+ years rigging experience in industrial/power plant construction
- • Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans and lift diagrams
- • Proven skill using hand/power tools, layout tools and rigging hardware
- • Comfortable working at heights, in confined areas and on uneven surfaces
- • Must have required personal tools and be able to pass drug/alcohol and fit-for-duty testing
- • Ability to work night shift on a 5x10 schedule, overtime and irregular hours as required
Qualifications
- • Minimum 5 years industrial/power rigging experience
- • Valid U.S. driver’s license (may be required)
- • OSHA 10 (or OSHA 30 preferred)
- • Rigger/crane signal certification or equivalent employer-approved credential
- • First Aid/CPR and fit-for-duty clearance
- • Ability to read English-language plans and communicate effectively with crew and supervision
