Rigger Journeyman — Night Shift
About this role
Seeking an experienced Rigger Journeyman to join an industrial power project in Greenville, MS. You will set up and rig large-scale equipment, machinery, pipe and steel, lay out rigging plans, and guide loads into position on a heavy-industrial site. This is hands-on work at heights and in confined areas where safety and accuracy matter. This role runs on a 5x10 night-shift schedule. Per diem is available when eligible and a night-shift differential applies. Eligible rehires may receive additional incentive compensation. Expect rugged outdoor conditions, lift planning responsibilities, and close coordination with crane operators and supervision.
What you'll do
- • Set up and rig large-scale heavy equipment, machinery, pipe and steel for crane lifts and installs
- • Position, align and level machines/equipment and guide loads into final position using tag lines
- • Shake out items into an erectable sequence and rig them for crane hoisting using proper signals
- • Select and install rigging components; lay out rigging plans and develop basic rigging procedures
- • Estimate sizes, distances and rigging tensions to identify safe rigging points and rated gear
- • Inspect and verify subordinate work for compliance with plans/specs; correct deficiencies as needed
What we're looking for
- • 5+ years rigging experience in industrial or power plant construction
- • Ability to read and interpret plans, specs and lift drawings; communicate instructions clearly
- • Thorough knowledge and use of crane signals, tag line control and safe load handling
- • Experience selecting rated rigging based on anticipated tension and lift dynamics
- • Physically able to work at heights, in confined areas, and in varied outdoor conditions on a 5x10 schedule
- • Must have required hand and power tools and be able to pass pre-access drug/alcohol and fit-for-duty testing
Qualifications
- • Proven journeyman-level rigging experience on heavy industrial projects
- • Knowledge of lift planning, crane dynamics and critical lifting procedures
- • Crane signaling experience or certification preferred
- • Valid driver's license may be required for site access
- • Able to pass drug/alcohol screening and fit-for-duty testing
- • Own required rigging and hand tools
