Rigger Journeyman
About This Role
NCCER-certified Rigger Journeyman needed in Greenville, MS. This is hands-on rigging work on construction and industrial sites — lifting and moving heavy materials, setting precast, working on wind farms, and executing multi-crane lifts. You’ll follow NCCER standards, coordinate lifts with crane operators, and keep gear inspected and ready. Pay is competitive and based on experience. This role requires a safe, experienced rigger comfortable working at height, around transmission lines, and on varied projects including precast erection, curtainwall, and demolition lifts.
What You'll Do
- • Set up rigging gear and determine safe lift points per NCCER standards; select and inspect slings, shackles, hooks and hardware.
- • Signal and coordinate lifts with crane operators, ground crew and other trades; execute lift plans and follow multi-crane procedures.
- • Attach and operate telescopic boom and lattice boom assemblies; rig curtainwall, precast panels, and heavy ironwork.
- • Perform wind-farm and wind-tower climbing tasks safely when required; work near electrical transmission wires following safety protocols.
- • Inspect, maintain and document condition of rigging equipment; report defects and perform basic repairs or tag out as needed.
What We're Looking For
- • Minimum 3 years proven rigging experience on construction or industrial sites.
- • Experience on wind farms and wind tower climbing operations.
- • Precast erection experience and curtainwall installation rigging.
- • Competent with telescopic boom attachments, lattice boom assembly and multi-crane lifts; able to assist with lift planning.
- • Work safely in proximity to electrical transmission wires and follow site-specific safety plans.
- • Able to perform general ironwork, elevated masonry rigging, pipelaying and demolition lifts as required.
Qualifications
- • NCCCO Rigger certification (required).
- • NCCER certification (required).
- • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred.
- • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; able to pass drug screen and background check.
- • Comfortable working at heights; CPR/First Aid certification a plus.
