Site Safety Specialist
About This Role
Join a busy construction team in Charlotte as a Site Safety Specialist supporting field leadership to keep jobsites safe and compliant. You’ll be on-site daily doing inspections, coaching crews, and making sure work follows OSHA and company standards. This is a hands-on role: you’ll partner with superintendents, foremen, and project managers to spot hazards, lead toolbox talks, maintain safety logs, and drive continuous improvement across projects. Ideal for someone with 1–3 years of construction safety experience and solid OSHA knowledge.
What You'll Do
- • Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments and document findings
- • Work directly with superintendents, foremen, and project managers to reinforce safe work practices and correct unsafe conditions
- • Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and on-site training for crews and subcontractors
- • Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and follow up on corrective actions
- • Maintain accurate safety documentation, daily reports, logs, permits, and inspection records
- • Champion continuous improvement in safety processes and promote a positive safety culture on every project
What We're Looking For
- • 1–3 years of construction safety experience on commercial or heavy civil sites
- • Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and ability to apply them on-site
- • Clear, direct communication skills for coaching crews and writing reports
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
- • Detail-oriented with strong observation, hazard recognition, and problem-solving skills
- • Ability to lead safety meetings and train field crews; comfortable speaking to groups of workers
Qualifications
- • Valid driver’s license
- • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour Construction card preferred
- • CPR/First Aid certification a plus
- • 1–3 years documented construction safety experience
- • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
