About this role
Senior Field Superintendent based in Oak Brook, IL for commercial construction projects. This is a hands-on leadership role: you’ll travel to multiple job sites nationwide, support field teams, and drive safe, on-time, quality delivery across projects. You will develop and coach Superintendents and field-based Project Engineers, enforce site safety and quality standards, manage subcontractor relationships, and act as a trusted resource for project teams. This role demands clear, direct communication, strong field experience, and a commitment to mentoring future leaders.
What you'll do
- Coach and mentor site Superintendents and field Project Engineers; conduct regular site visits and performance reviews
- Enforce safety procedures and quality standards on every job site; lead safety briefings and audits
- Monitor project schedules, track milestones, and help remove field-level roadblocks to keep projects on track
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and owners to resolve issues and manage daily work flow
- Maintain accurate project documentation: daily reports, RFIs, submittals, change logs and punch lists
- Provide hands-on support for complex field problems and step in as temporary site leadership when needed
What we're looking for
- Proven field leadership in commercial construction with hands-on superintendent or senior superintendent experience
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, trade sequencing and quality control
- Excellent verbal and written communication—able to lead crews, coordinate with clients, and write clear reports
- Track and monitor project performance: schedules, budgets, change orders and closeout activities
- Experience managing subcontractor relationships, resolving conflicts and enforcing site safety and compliance
- Willingness and ability to travel nationwide to support multiple job sites
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and reliable travel availability
- OSHA 30-hour construction safety card (or equivalent)

What we offer
- Paid travel expenses and lodging when on assignment
- Mileage reimbursement or company vehicle for site travel
