Per diem
Traveling Concrete Superintendent
About this role
We are hiring a Traveling Concrete Superintendent based out of Irving, TX to lead full-life construction of large pre-stressed concrete liquid storage tanks at sites nationwide. You will run the jobsite from layout and formwork through concrete placement, testing, and closeout — directing crews, subcontractors, and inspections to deliver safe, on-time, high-quality projects. This is a per diem travel position. Expect extended stays at remote project sites across the U.S. You’ll be the on-site leader for safety, quality, schedule and client relationships, mentor field staff, and use construction software and field tools to keep projects on track.
What you'll do
- • Direct all on-site construction activities: supervise field crews and subcontractors to ensure safety, quality, productivity and schedule compliance.
- • Read and interpret contract drawings and specifications; plan and oversee layout, formwork, rebar, concrete placement, curing, and field testing.
- • Own and enforce the company safety program: conduct regular site inspections, toolbox talks, incident investigations and corrective actions.
- • Manage project schedule, materials, equipment, crane/rigging operations and on-site logistics to meet milestones and maintain productivity.
- • Lead quality assurance and punch-list work: perform inspections, document nonconformances, coordinate corrective work and closeout deliverables.
- • Maintain project documentation using field platforms and ERP tools; communicate daily progress with clients, engineers and inspectors.
What we're looking for
- • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field and/or 6+ years of proven superintendent-level experience on large concrete projects.
- • Hands-on experience with line & grade, formwork systems, pre-stressed concrete tank construction, concrete placement and testing.
- • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, crane operations, rigging requirements and incident investigation methods.
- • Proficient with construction technology (iPad/laptop), scheduling tools and ERP/field reporting software for daily logs and documentation.
- • Willingness to travel extensively and live at remote project sites for extended periods; ability to manage multiple remote projects.
- • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, crew leadership and client-facing skills.
Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or equivalent field experience (6+ years preferred).
- • OSHA 30-hour construction certification or equivalent safety training.
- • Concrete field testing certification (ACI or similar) and experience with concrete quality control.
- • Rigging and crane safety training or documented experience with crane operations.
- • Valid driver’s license, reliable travel availability, and ability to pass background and drug screening.
- • Fluent in English; additional languages a plus.
What we offer
- • Per diem for travel, plus travel expense reimbursement and site lodging coordination.
- • Medical, dental and vision coverage.
- • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match and paid time off.
- • Training and certification support, on-the-job leadership development.
- • Opportunities to lead high-profile infrastructure projects nationwide and advance into senior field roles.
- • Performance recognition programs and field safety incentives.
