Assistant Superintendent / Project Coordinator

Gay, GA

About this role

We are hiring an Assistant Superintendent / Project Coordinator to keep civil site service projects organized and moving. You'll work on clearing/grubbing, grading, erosion control, pipe installation and other site work, helping field crews and subcontractors stay on schedule and meet quality standards. This role supports pre-construction and bidding tasks, handles project documentation, and requires travel across Georgia for site visits and meetings. The right candidate is practical, tech-savvy with basic computing skills, and comfortable communicating with foremen, subcontractors, and owners.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate day-to-day field activities: schedule crews, track progress, and resolve site issues.
  • Perform regular site visits to inspect work, document progress, and enforce safety and quality standards.
  • Support pre-construction and bidding: review drawings, prepare scope notes, assemble bid packages, and evaluate subcontractor bids.
  • Maintain project documentation: daily reports, RFI logs, submittals, change notices, and photo records.
  • Use digital tools to share updates, run meetings, and keep the project team aligned.

What we're looking for

  • Experience on civil site service work (clearing/grubbing, grading, erosion control, pipe work).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and field layouts.
  • Proven communication skills — clear verbal and written updates to crews and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with bidding, cost estimation, and subcontractor evaluation.
  • Comfortable with basic computing and construction management software, spreadsheets, PDF markup, and virtual meeting tools.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel across Georgia.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; construction-related coursework or trade training preferred.
  • OSHA 10 (or higher) preferred or willingness to obtain site safety training.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in civil site construction or project coordination.
  • Proficient in document control, spreadsheets, PDF markup/takeoff tools, and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Fluent English for effective on-site communication and reporting.

What we offer

  • Paid time off and company-recognized holidays.
  • Health insurance and retirement plan options.
  • Travel mileage reimbursement and per-diem for overnight site travel.
  • Company-issued mobile device or tablet for field use and communication.
  • On-the-job training and pathway for advancement to full superintendent roles.
