Construction Superintendent

About This Role

Experienced superintendent needed in Raleigh, NC to run daily site operations for a general contractor. You'll lead crews, coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, keep work on schedule and on budget, and represent the GC on active job sites. This role covers commercial and light-industrial projects around the Triangle. Expect hands-on field leadership, direct contact with subcontractors and inspectors, and responsibility for quality, safety and project documentation. What You'll Do

• • Lead and coordinate day-to-day on-site construction activities: assign crews, enforce schedule, and verify work progress
• • Interface with subcontractors, suppliers, engineers and inspectors; manage daily subcontractor scope and performance
• • Inspect work for quality and compliance with plans, specs and building codes; correct defects and enforce QC
• • Manage safety on site: enforce safety programs, conduct toolbox talks, and coordinate inspections and permits
• • Control materials and inventory on site, verify deliveries, and track time-and-materials and change orders
• • Maintain project documentation: daily logs, RFIs, submittals, as-built notes, billing support and closeout files

What We're Looking For

• • 5+ years superintendent or foreman experience on commercial or civil construction projects
• • Strong leadership and clear verbal/written communication with crews, subs and project stakeholders
• • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, civil drawings and technical specifications
• • Knowledge of local building codes, permit processes and inspection coordination in North Carolina
• • Hands-on experience with project scheduling, cost control, job cost reports and subcontractor management
• • Familiarity with construction management software, time-and-material billing and claims/change order handling

Qualifications

• • OSHA 30-hour construction training (or willing to obtain)
• • Valid NC driver's license and reliable transportation
• • First Aid / CPR certification (preferred or willing to obtain)
• • 5+ years documented superintendent/foreman experience on similar project types
• • Proven record of project documentation and ability to pass background and drug screening
• • Fluent in English (construction-level verbal and written communication)
