Construction Superintendent

About this role

Hands-on Construction Superintendent needed in Lebanon, IN to lead foremen and craft crews on commercial, residential, and light industrial projects. You’ll be the site lead—reading blueprints, enforcing safety and quality standards, keeping projects on schedule, and tracking labor and costs. This is a field role that combines daily supervision, planning, problem solving, and hands-on work. Expect to coordinate crews, adjust work sequences, coach foremen, handle documentation, and step in to operate equipment when needed.

What you'll do

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, specs, and job orders to set daily work plans
  • Supervise and coordinate foremen and craft crews to meet schedules and quality standards
  • Enforce company policies and site safety rules; hold toolbox talks and ensure compliance
  • Plan and adjust work sequences, estimate worker-hours, and maintain accurate time records
  • Analyze and resolve onsite problems, coach crews, and manage performance issues
  • Track costs and assist with job cost estimates, permit/inspection coordination, and closeout

What we're looking for

  • High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 5 years of related construction supervision experience
  • Proven ability to read drawings, specifications, and develop work sequences
  • Strong leadership and crew-management skills; experience supervising foremen and multiple trades
  • Solid communication skills — clear verbal and written direction across teams and stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of building codes, inspections, quality control, and safety procedures
  • Comfortable using construction management software, maintaining project docs, and tracking performance

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years supervisory experience in commercial, residential, or industrial construction
  • OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs; must be able to work on feet for long periods
  • Proficiency with construction scheduling and project-management software
  • English required; Spanish or other language skills helpful
  • Able to pass drug screen and background check
