Construction Superintendent
About this role
Join a field-first construction team in Lebanon, IN as a Construction Superintendent. You’ll supervise foremen and craft crews, read and apply blueprints and specifications, and make day-to-day decisions that keep projects on schedule and built to quality standards. This role combines hands-on site leadership with planning, problem-solving, and tracking worker-hours and costs. You’ll enforce safety rules, coordinate inspections and permits, and coach crews to meet project milestones and client expectations.
What you'll do
- • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications and job orders to set daily work plans
- • Supervise and coordinate foremen and craft crews to meet schedule, quality and safety requirements
- • Establish and adjust work sequences, assign crews and equipment, and estimate worker-hour needs to hit milestones
- • Enforce site safety rules and company policies; coordinate inspections, permits and site safety training
- • Track and maintain time records, progress reports and basic cost information; assist with contract cost estimates
- • Analyze and resolve on-site problems, coach team members, and provide clear direction to diverse crews
What we're looking for
- • Minimum 5 years’ construction field experience with increasing responsibility supervising crews or foremen
- • Proven ability to read and apply blueprints, specifications and project schedules
- • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to coordinate with trades, inspectors and project stakeholders
- • Hands-on problem solving with knowledge of building codes, quality control and site layout
- • Experience estimating worker-hours, tracking project performance, and maintaining project documentation
- • Ability to enforce safety procedures, manage jobsite inspections, and work with diverse teams at all organizational levels
Qualifications
- • High school diploma or GED required
- • Minimum 5 years of related construction supervision experience (foreman/superintendent roles)
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
- • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical movements on site
- • OSHA 30-hour and First Aid/CPR preferred; must be able to pass background and drug screening if required
